Built on a belief that every child can.
No Tanzanian child should fail mathematics for lack of support. This is who we are, where we started and where we are going.
Motivated students, performing well, in every school.
Students who are highly motivated and performing well in mathematics in every primary and secondary school in Tanzania.
Teach, mentor and coach.
Promote teaching, mentoring and coaching of students and teachers to foster mathematics performance in schools across Tanzania.
What drives us
Results-focused
We measure everything. Every programme is judged on documented exam outcomes and real change in students' lives.
Community-first
We work with teachers, headteachers and parents, not around them. Lasting change needs community ownership.
Equity
We deliberately focus on under-resourced schools. Every child deserves the same quality of mathematical support.
Evidence-based
Our programmes rest on what works: teacher coaching, intensive mentoring and direct student engagement.
Tanzanian-led
Built by Tanzanians, for Tanzania, with deep understanding of the local education system and culture.
Ambition
Bold goals, from ending Grade F at struggling schools to competing on the international Olympiad stage.
How we got here
Numbers Foundation founded
We launched Give Back With Maths, with volunteer teachers visiting under-resourced schools across Arusha. Registered as an NGO (Reg. No. 00NGO/R/2112).
Expanding school reach
Give Back With Maths grew across Meru and Arusha districts. The first Mathematical Technical Workshops launched with the Arusha Regional Education Office.
Numbers Charity and Online School
Numbers Charity and Sport began at Nkoanekoli Primary School, and Numbers Online School went live at numbersonlineschool.com.
Historic results at Nshupu
Working with Form Four students at Nshupu Secondary School, we saw the first Grade A in mathematics in the school's 23-year history. Three students were sponsored to university and TAMO began.
Nkoanekoli transformation
Grade C at Nkoanekoli Primary rose from 6% to 42% in the National Assessment and Grade E was eliminated. Over 5,300 students reached cumulatively.
The road ahead
Expanding to new regions, deepening Olympiad coaching and launching Maths, Music and Lifestyle. Targeting 10,000+ students reached by the end of 2026.
